Simply call to the Main Reception of The Apex, fill out a membership application form and choose how you wish to pay. All memberships can be paid upfront by cash or credit card. 12 month memberships can also be paid by direct debit and also with our 3 split payment scheme. 6 month memberships can also be paid using our 2 split payment scheme. For Direct Debit payments please bring your bank details with you (BIC & IBAN number) as well as a current form of identification and proof of address. For Direct Debit Payments €120 must be paid up front with the remaining balance split across 10 equal payments. With our split payment scheme, the first payment must be made on the day of joining and then customers have 6 weeks before the next payment is due. Upfront payments always work out cheaper than direct debit or split payments as they include a small administration fee. Once payment is received and your application has been processed, we will give you a key fob/swipe card so you can come and go as you please.

Your membership will last either 3, 6 and 12 months depending on the choice of membership you purchase. The duration of the membership begins to count down from the date that you join.

  • All members must bring their membership keyfob/swipe card to enter the facility each time they visit the facility
  • Swimmers must bring a towel and proper swim wear.
  • Swim hats must be worn in the pool at all time. (these are available at reception for €2)
  • All lockers in The Apex accept a €1 coin which will be returned after use.
  • Gym users should bring a clean dry towel into the gym/fitness classes for hygiene reasons
  • Water bottles can be filled using the water fountains located throughout the building
  • Sports drinks, goggles, armbands as well another items are available on sale in the reception area.

When using the gym/attending a fitness class, loose, comfortable suitable clothing (tracksuit, shorts, t-shirt) must be worn. Proper footwear (trainers) must be worn in the gym and during fitness classes. Flip flops/sandals are not permitted. Pool users must have appropriate swim wear. Outdoor shorts/t-shirts/underwear is not permitted in the pool for hygiene reasons. All pool users must wear a swim hat and children 3 years and younger must wear a swim nappy when using the pool.

Yes, as well as memberships, The Apex offers customers the option of Pay As You Go. There is different prices available for different groups, i.e. Students, Over 55s, Couples, etc. Pay As You Go customers have the option of purchasing a Swim & Gym pass or a Swim or Gym pass. Our instructors are always on hand and are more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the fitness equipment. To get the best from your training sessions, we advise that you make contact with one of our gym instructors and schedule a health screening which will enable them to create an individually tailored gym programme to help you reach your fitness goals. This service is free for members and is also available to non-members for a small fee. If it is your first visit, you should always contact the gym instructor for an induction to the gym and the equipment available. Every customer’s safety is paramount and for this reason we ask you not to use the equipment until you are fully aware of correct usage and safety measures. If in any doubt – TALK TO THE INSTRUCTOR!

Yes. Fitness classes can be pre-booked by members over the phone/in person but no sooner than the day before the class is due to take part. Any current swimming lesson customers will be given the first opportunity to book in and any remaining spots will be offered to new customers. Yes, there is a large carpark located next to the building, which allows for free parking. The carpark is for customer use only and must only be used while the customer is using The Apex facility. There is also an area to park bicycles in front of the main entrance. Please ensure that your bicycle is securely locked at all times when using the facility. We ask that all users of The Apex carpark facilities be considerate and safety-conscious.

There are two different changing areas in The Apex. Downstairs, just adjacent to the Swimming Pool is the Changing Village. The Changing Village encompasses the changing area, lockers, showers and toilets. This is a Unisex Changing Area. Changing cubicles and lockers are provided for privacy and security. There is also a number of family changing cubicles in the Changing Village. All lockers take a €1 coin which you get back after usage. The Changing Village also has 2 group changing rooms, which can be used by school groups or any sports teams that are visiting The Apex. There is also a changing area, shower area and toilet facilities for any customers that suffers from a physical disability. Upstairs in The Apex, there is separate changing rooms for male and female customers. These changing rooms are more suited for gym users. Each changing room contains lockers for your belongings, toilet facilities and showers.

Are there rules for using specific areas of The Apex? Specific areas have their own specific rules which are located around the facility. The Health Suite can only be used by individuals 18 years and older. The Gym is for individuals aged 16 years and older, except during specifically designated ‘Teen Gym’ hours. These rules exist in order to ensure that everyone may continue to enjoy a safe, clean and pleasant facility. Any person(s) that do not abide by the rules set out by The Management of The Apex may be asked to leave the facility and have their membership cancelled.

Access for all for was identified as one of the primary objectives for The Apex from the initial conception of the facility. The Apex was designed and constructed in full compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • All areas are wheelchair accessible
  • There is a lift to the gym on the first floor where some of the equipment is also specifically designed to accommodate people with mobility issues.
  • A pool hoist system is available for access to the main pool.
  • There are individual disabled toilet facilities on each floor, some of which also have disabled shower and changing areas
  • There are designated disabled parking spaces close to the main entrance, with a ramp up to the door.

Yes, we offer a selection of coffees, teas and snacks from reception. There are also a number of vending machines around the Centre offering a variety of different drinks/food. In the gym we stock a number of different health supplements for retail.

Children must be over 1 metre tall to ride the flume. Parents may bring 1 child at a time down the flume if necessary. The flume operates from 12.00pm – 6.30pm at the weekends and bank holidays, and will run after swimming lessons during the week. The Flume does not operate while swimming lessons are on.

The Opening Hours for The Apex are as follows: Monday – Friday (06.30AM – 9.30PM) Sat/Sun/BH’s (08.00AM – 7.00PM) Offpeak Hours are as follows: Monday – Friday (08.00AM – 04.00PM)

Off-peak patrons must have finished their swim/gym workout by 4:00PM. Last check-in is 3:15PM.

Children’s (0 years – 15 years) Monday – Thursday, Saturdays, Sundays & BH’s (08.00AM – 07.00PM) Friday (08.00AM – 10.30PM)
